Grosse Pointe High School

Class Of 1960

50 Year Reunion

Plans are under way for the class of June, 1960's  50 Year Reunion.

As noted on the Home Page, the reunion will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Lochmoor Country Club in Grosse Pointe Woods.  It will consist of a cocktail hour, program, dinner, a cash bar, and 50's-60's music.  On Friday night, we will have a casual reception at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial where we will have appetizers, desserts and pizza later in the evening.  Beer and wine will be complimentary for this event.  More details as the time draws closer.  In addition, a tour of the High School is planned for Saturday morning at 10:00.

In May everyone was sent a mailing to provide all of the details of both events and also a registration form for you to return with your reservations and check.  If you did not receive your mailing, please contact Pat Hagland Whitledge or print the information from the "Reunion Reservations" tab at the left.

The Contact Committee is busily working to make sure that all of our available classmates are located and that all classmates are encouraged to join the website:  www.gphs60.com.  On the website,  you can provide your profile and communicate with all of the others who have joined and are using it regularly to contact old friends.  As of June 15, we have had 398 classmates join the website and it has had over 11,500 visits!

The 50 Year Reunion Committee is as follows:  Pat Hagland Whitledge, General Chairperson (whitledge812@gmail.com or  248-335-6797 ); Lauren Bowler, Finance; Judy Amorello Cooper, Friday Evening Chair;  Karen Belanger Quarnstrom, Saturday Evening Chair; Linda Born Lussier, Bob BrownLanier Gray Harrison and Bette Slavko Nelson, Contact; Liz Ohrt Mitchell, Decorations; Linda Libby Graham, Welcome; Barb Andrysiak Roscoe, Name Tags; Sheri Peacock Kelchner, Hotel Accommodations; Bill Halbert, Program.

Please let Pat Hagland Whitledge know if you would like to chair an ancillary event, such as a golf outing on Saturday afternoon, lunch at a restaurant we used to frequent or perhaps planned gatherings for particular elementary schools.   Lots of people will be in from out of town and will be looking for fun activities during the day Saturday.  These events can be posted as an "Announcement" on our website Home Page.  If you plan an event, please be sure that it does not conflict with the three previously planned events (the War Memorial on Friday, the High School Tour on Saturday at 10:00 or the Banquet at Lochmoor on Saturday evening).
