Al and I were best friends starting from the age of 11 years old. I'am going to take my time and gather all my ideas in memory of my best friend.

I have fond memories of Al Adams

Boy Scout group No.79, our meetings were held in the Church behind Parcells Jr. High. Al and I were in the Scouts for four years.

At 14 we started riding motorcycles. Al's first was a Harley-Davison 1947 125cc Hummer. Then came a big Harley and then on too Indians. He seam to have 3 or 4 motorcycles at a time.

Al was also into a very nice collection of Lionel Model Trains, starting in 1956. I know because I traded my American Flyer Train set for Al's first Harley the Hummer.

At 16 he new what to collect and would have value in years to come. Indian Motorcycles and Lionel Trains!

When Al started driving his mothers 57 Ford station wagon(yellow and white)He had the idea in mind it was faster than my 51 Ford! At the time my car had a big block Olds, 2 fours, roller cam, headers and a 38 Cad. 3 speed on the floor.

That reminds me, one night Al was going to pass me on a back street in GP Woods. (That was not going to happen) I was soon their after introduced to the G.P.W's Police Dept.with (3) tickets in hand.

Al's Sr. year he was driving a 1960 Ford (brown) with a big police/option engine. He wanted to go fast. Out came the back seat, the front seat and the heater etc. On went the headers, cam and drag bars.

The last time I saw Al was 1966. At that time he was working in a Ford dealership in the shop fixing Ford's

Al was a real good friend. In the 50's as kids ( boys in our teens) we could never say or even think to say I love you! As a man living in 2010 I'am proud to say I loved Al like a brother.
