Larry was the kid with the very large butterfly collection. I remember going over to his house on eight mile between Mack and Harper. He had panel after panel all glass covered of the most interesting looking butterflies. His mother was very protective of that collection as I remember!

When Larry was older, he and his dad built a little sports car in back yard. The body was formed with masonite panels over plywood sections. That little car was used as Larries driver training tool, up and down the driveway.

I remember the exact location of the Colpaert house because his family owned the duplex next door. I rented the second floor for four years when I was first married.

Larry and I hung out together and helped each other flunk Latin!

We also built a 'centrifuge' to test rocket motors in his back yard - the first one was a CO2 cartridge filled with match heads. What an EXPLOSION!!

Later, Larry married one of my neighbors - Barb Magill, who I believe was Class of '61. He was known as "The Furniture Doctor", living in Williamston.
