Lynn Siemon, 73, of Charlottesville, died on August 29, 2015 at home with her family.

Lynn was born July 19, 1942, daughter of the late Kathleen Holton Meech and James Harold Meech of Detroit, Michigan. The oldest of three children, Lynn graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1960. She is survived by her brother James William Meech of Los Angeles, sister Rita Marie Meech of Cadillac, Michigan, and nephew Maxwell James Oss, Los Angeles. Lynn met Patrick Siemon at Michigan State University and they married on June 27, 1964. They were married for 42 years and traveled the world due to Pat’s 27 years in the U.S. Army. They had a son, Brad Patrick Siemon, born in Munich, Germany and a daughter, Wendy Lynn Baker, born in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Lynn taught English and Drama in Iowa; New Mexico; Mannheim, Germany; and finally for over 15 years in Fairfax, Virginia. In retirement in 2001 Pat and Lynn moved to Charlottesville and built a home to be near their daughter and grandchildren. Brad and his family moved here from Florida a few years later. Lynn became involved as a volunteer docent at the Fralin Museum of Art on campus and spent many happy years there.

Lynn is survived by her son and daughter, daughter-in-law Tabitha Weber and son-in-law Ben Baker. She is also survived by seven wonderful grandchildren: Korinna, 21, Lucas, 16, Kevin, 16, Jake, 14, Ally, 12, Kaylee, 11, and Kyle, 9.

Lynn’s remains were cremated by Teague Funeral Home and she will be interred at home. A memorial service will be held at the Teague Funeral Home chapel on September 5, 2015 at 10 a.m., followed by a reception at Teague.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers and in honor of Lynn’s memory, donations be made to the Education Office, the Fralin Musuem of Art, 155 Rugby Road, PO Box 400119, Charlottesville, VA 22904-4119.
