................and a rose for Jim. If you knew Jim, tell us something about him.

Jim was my best friend during high school and was a lot of fun. He, Dennis Mathews and I were in the army reserve (6 months) together and went through basic training at Fort Knox. Denny and Jim went to cook school and I went to MP school. We met up again when our unit was activated during the Berlin/Cuban crisis and were extended for another 15 months. We were all stationed at Fort Polk, LA and had a great time while there. Jim and Denny were the company cooks and I was a stockade guard.

I was very taken back when I heard of his passing. God rest his soul.

Jim was a  very witty and energetic friend.  He always, always had a kind and witty come-back for all

situations.  I remember often trading him my lunch bag for his, after I had already eaten mine!  A kind

and gentle soul.  Jim, you will always be loved.    Ken Squiers
