Karen Quarnstrom passed away on April 21, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Karen was born December 21, 1942 in Grosse Pointe, to Mary and Dr. W.G. Belanger. After graduating from Grosse Pointe High School, Karen attended the University of Michigan where she met her husband, Bob. . . . . . Ruth Hetmanski (Sanders)
So sorry to hear this about Karen. We have not seen each other in many years (I have not lived in Michigan since 1964), but we were friends both in high school and at U of Michigan. I have many fond memories of her. Blessed journey to you, Karen! --Ruth Sanders
Mary A. Funk
Karen and I were both in Girl Scout Troop 305 while at Richard Elementary. We remained friends, but lost contact after high school. I have a snapshot of us taken together on top of a mountain while on the Chet Sampson trip in 1958. It was always fun to visit with her at reunions. Karen had a lovely smile and was up beat and fun to be with. My sincerest sympathy and prayers go to her family. She will certainly be missed. ~Mary Funk

I also was in Girl Scout Troop 305 at Richard. How time flies. Karen always had a marvelous smile with twinkling eyes. A lovely gracious lady. I had the opportunity to visit with her at our last reunion - 60th - all 80 years old. Karen, may you be soaring with the angels.
