Haberkorn, Christian "Harry" 11/20/1941 - 3/7/2021 Christian Henry "Harry" Haberkorn IV was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 20, 1941 and passed away on March 7, 2021 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was the beloved husband of Debbie Dishman, his wife of 31 years. He is also survived by two children from his previous marriage, a son Chris and a daughter Lynn, a granddaughter Christin, and sisters Susan Haberkorn, Driska McCullough, Miff (Chuck) Hendriksen and their families. Harry will be sorely missed by the Dishman family with whom he spent many happy times---Larry and Donna, Richard and Randy, Cindy and Bruce Bowden, Tom and JoAnna, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian Henry Haberkorn III and Hendrieka (Beyster) Haberkorn, and a brother John. Harry grew up in Grosse Pointe and always spoke fondly of weekends spent at his grandparents' cottage on Harsen's Island where he enjoyed boating and watching freighters making their way through the St. Clair River, a fascination that continued throughout his life. Harry graduated with a B.S. degree in Printing Management from Ferris State College and spent the beginning of his career working in the production departments of small-town Michigan newspapers, setting type and doing photography. He spent the majority of his career as a finish carpenter, and especially enjoyed his time working at the North American Auto Show and managing the Detroit Boat and Fishing Show at Cobo Hall. Harry was truly talented, inquisitive, and patient. He was a wise, gentle, caring man who loved life and lived it well. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Ann Arbor, 530 Elizabeth St., on Saturday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Ann Arbor.
