Paul Theodure (Ted") Pearse
1943-2025
Paul Theodore Pearse passed away on July 27, 2025, leaving behind his wife and partner Teresa Voss. Ted, known by many as Teddy, was born on January 5,1943 to Bernard and Isabel Pearse. When he was 5 years old, he became big brother to Christopher Pearse. He spent his childhood in Dearborn and Grosse Pointe where he attended Grosse Pointe High School. Upon graduation he attended Michigan State University where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After graduation he married his first wife Gail Schollenberger. He served in the Air Force and the United States Navy reserve, retiring as Lieutenant Commander.
Ted began his long and storied advertising career at Campbell-Ewald following in his father's footsteps. He was Vice President with Blair Television and moved on to become Vice President and Director of Sales at WDIV-TV.
Ted shared 2 daughters with his first wife: Jennifer Pearse Huey (David) and Jessica Pearse, whom he adored. He was the proud grandfather of Amelia Pearse, Pearse Huey, and Josephine Huey.
Teddy and Teresa met while working in advertising and later married. They loved their dogs, golfing, traveling and attending Red Wings games.
Ted was a proud member and served on the board of Oakland Hills Country Club and made many lifelong friends. He also loved Red Wings hockey and was featured in Hour Detroit magazine for his unique, incredibly entertaining and outrageously fun Suite No.1 called 'Teddy's Place'. The centerpiece of the suite, a vintage jukebox, would end every night by playing 'God Bless America' to signal the suite closing for the evening. With his huge personality and flair for entertaining, Ted was the life of the party.

Ted was predeceased by his father Bernard and mother Isabel. He is survived by his wife Terry; daughters Jennifer Pearse Huey (David) and Jessica Pearse; grandchildren Pearse, Josephine, and Amelia; brother Chris (Judy) and niece Meredith and nephew Will. Teddy was a good friend and loyal pal right up to the end. My wife and our classmate, Barbara Thorpe Jay, had a severe stroke 15 years ago and one of the first people to knock on our door in Naples, FL, was Teddy. I haden't seen him in a while but there he was, unexpected. What can I do to help? That was Ted. He'll be missed by many. RIP Teddy, JJ
