
Armine "Tina" (Leaman) Vart

Arminé “Tina” Leaman, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away October 23, 2023. She was born July 8, 1942 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan to the late Raymond and Annahid (Gasparian) Vart. Tina was a 1960 graduate of Grosse Pointe High School. She received her bachelor's degree from Butler University and her masters degree from Western Michigan University. Tina was an elementary school teacher for Lawrence Township School Corporation and Westfield School Corporation for over 25 years.
Tina was a longtime member of Allisonville Christian Church. She was also a member of Delta Gamma Sorority while attending Butler University. Tina loved spending her free time at her home in Dugger, Indiana where many of her friends would come down for a weekend visit. She loved to cook for friends, collect antiques, and spend time watching her grandchildren in their sporting events. She always enjoyed cheering on the Butler Men’s Basketball team where they had season tickets for over 30 years. Tina was always a positive breath of fresh air for friends in need or to her family in any way she could. She will be missed by so many people.
Tina is survived by her children, Tiffany A. Betner (Brian) and David T. Leaman (Heidi); grandchildren, Lily E. Betner, Reid W. Betner, Grant C. Betner; Savannah M. Leaman, Thomas D. Leaman, John R. Leaman and Luke R. Leaman; and sister, Rita V. Pokorny. She was preceded in death by her brother, Vahe Vart. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Joel Leaman.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with words of remembrance at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Country Country Club, 6098 Fall Creek Road, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
Final care and arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel.

I think I got to know Armine best at our 50th reunion. She was a sweet girl! Very caring and understanding and fun-loving. I regret not having had the chance to spend more time with her. Alison Johnson
