Sandy Steele Barry

After attending Mich St. Univ for 1 1/2 yr, married and moved to Chicago, where my 3 sons were born. My 1st husband's job transfer brought us to So. Calif. After working for several yrs. as a buyer in retail, hospital and a school I went to UCLA and got my degree in Interior Design. I finally finished college at age 47. While working in this field I specialized in kitchen design. In 1986, I married a very funny, wonderful man from "across the pond" and together we have enjoyed traveling to England and other foreign countries. Italy is our favorite. Our joy is our 13 grandchildren, ages 6 to 21, all of whom live within 10 min from us...sometimes this is not so good!!! but most of the time it is wonderful. Our home is the gathering place for family celebrations and holidays; who else but grandma and grandpa would put up with and cook for an immediate family of 21 people.
John is an avid soccer fan and still plays soccer every Sunday in a men's league. I co-founded a tap dance group called Razzmatappers. We have been performing locally for over 10 yrs and rehearse 3 times a week and even traveled to Las Vegas for a competition and won 1st place...in our age group, of course. I also volunteer in the grandkids schools and as part of me is still a kid at heart, I fit right in.

UPDATE: John passed away on April 24, 2010. I miss him terribly and through the help of my family, friends and a grief suppoprt group am beginning to feel better.
