Virginia L. Weinberg Brooks

Married/divorced twice (triumph of hope over experience); raised 3 kids all with interesting health challenges-should have majored in medicine at U of M. Finally became a Real Estate Agent because I needed a job that wouldn't fire me if one of the kids was hospitalized and have found I mostly enjoy it (think I have a bit of the voyeur in me). Since the kids are grown and out on their own, I've been able to do community work, have fun with friends (don't have to worry about being home at a certain time) and do interesting spiritual seeking. This year I've been travelling a bit - cruise and land tour of Alaska, couple trips to Fort Lauderdale, and Seattle.

I clearly remember the stress of getting from the annex to the farthest point for driver's ed - no way to do it in 5 minutes. I remember trying to understand football. I remember the sign across the blackboard in Music Appreciation - "We Like That With Which We Are Familiar" - as I've travelled through life that seems one of the most profound statements ever. In some ways it seems so long ago, in others just like yesterday.
